This is the kind of akonta you will come home from work and he is sitting in your living room to come borrow money with no prior notification that he will be visiting. Just run and cut your losses. This does not sound like a family to marry into. You loved and lost one, keep going and you will find another.

The same amount that the bride's family will pay the bridegroom's family. Useless tradition across Ghana making women look like chattel to be bought. What's the sense in paying dowry for the bride but no dowry for the bridegroom? Dowry may have made sense to our ancestors, but we ought to realize that such bridal dowries make no sense. If family members on both sides can help with the wedding expenses, fine. But no wedding so call for any dowry to be paid.

Plan this with ur girl if she sides with u that u are not going to marry until u both have 3 or 4 kids with no wedding.thats how u should play the girl family.
