Captain Planet is an idiot who should never be interviewed on radio/Tv again..such a stupid mentality should not be encouraged on public radio’s/TV..probably he is not exposed..A lot of People are in Ghana and they have made it..some Ghanaians have travelled and have regretted big time..in this world, it’s about mindset, it’s not necessarily about location..someone tell this foolish Captain Planet that, the country he wants the Ghanaian youth to travel to, if their youths abandon it and travel, they wouldn’t have been able to develop it for the Ghanaian youth to travel there..there is no war In Ghana, why sit on radio to give such a stupid statement..I blame that particular radio station..only senseless radio stations will promote this stupidity..Radio/Tv should be used for educational purposes and not for foolishness..I now understand why Shatta wale keeps insulting some media house In Ghana

It saddens me when I hear such statements. Those of us who started Ghana did not have it easy at all. Yet still we persevered amidst the uncertainties of coup d'etats, general hardships where eating three times a day was luxury in most homes. We managed.

Our days, the universities were shut down for three months, so students would go and carry processed cocoa beans from the hinterland.

We carried full sacks on our backs with the support of deployed soldiers. This enabled the country to build up on its foreign exchange reserve. What have you done for Ghana that makes you feel patriotic? At least in the 70s, some young adult backs were sacrificed to move the country forward by carrying cocoa beans.

Look, the challenges out there these days outweigh what is here. What is stopping you as an individual from creating an industry to provide jobs for the unemployed youth?

Over there, as you encourage the youth to run to young entrepreneurs, their age are creating jobs in the private sector to support the economy.

Over there, the private sector fuels the economies massively. The public sector is unable to sustain such because of constrained resources secured through a small percentage of tax contributions. The private sector is the enabler for most of the developed economies.

Please go and have a taste of sleeping rough as a migrant with no formal documentation, working all round for a meagre salary, finding a comfortable home to rent, little prospect to improve oneself because of 24/7 menial working activities.

The developed worlds have reached saturated levels, and some are looking to explore new opportunities in Africa, a fast emerging market.

May I suggest, you set up a business training centre for the youth to skill them up covering most of the sectors for readiness to shine in the new to boom African economies as a result of AfCTA.

Albeit the nation's economy has been in the doldrums in the last three or so years, especially so since the Covid, encouraging the youth to abandon the nation by not returning after their overseas travels, is very disingenuous, at best.
All around the globe, economic conditions have worsened or, at best, stagnated or stagflation, with hundreds upon hundreds of thousands fleeing to the US, Canada and Europe for jobs.
There are many wealthy musicians in Ghana, only God knows how many of them have wisely invested in the Ghanaian economy to help create jobs, besides lone investments in their opulent Mansions?
If these musicians have any worthwhile investment ideas that can create decent jobs for the Ghanaian Youth, nothing stops them from seeking partnerships with the government or seeking the relevant tax breaks from the government in order to assist with their job-creating plans or investments.
"Inciting" the Youth to flee and not return to Ghana is akin to an exercise in futility.
This musician is doing more disservice and harm to Ghana than he can ever imagine.
His unpatriotism is enshrined in his foolhardiness.
Some of us Ghanaians abroad have continued to in vest in Ghana, notwithstanding the serious, troubled economic strains because we still have hopes for good days or years ahead for Ghana and we will continue to visit Ghana and never give up on our lovely nation, Ghana.
