It is true that St. Osei, Reggie’s Father, was a Tailor. Let’s give him credit and say he was a pioneer in those years with the transition from Tailor (or Seamstress) to Fashion Designer. It didn’t take long for Joyce Ababio to do the same. Although the man was never known outside tailoring and his perhaps cryptic lifestyle that we all saw back then, he still qualifies as Reggie’s Executive Producer by your own definition. He bankrolled his Boy “by paying for the music recording and nothing else.”

St Osei needn’t be a known producer of music but if he financed and worked out the deals for his Son’s record releases, he indeed was the Executive Producer. It’s a function and not carrier or occupation. Shatta Wale can be the singer and his own Executive Producer if he’s loaded enough and has the connections to the record company, studios and the creative people. The Executive Producer is also involved with marketing.
