  It is just so much easier to put on your best clothing, go to a church on Sunday to listen to your favorite "man of God" and listen to beautiful music, meet friends etc.
  For many that is their emotional fix for the week. After that life goes back to normal, with no thought or regard for personal daily devotion, bible study or prayer. They rush through the day and make their own decisions. When they get into trouble they expect the same God that they had little time for to drop everything and come running to their rescue.
  People will always follow a man or woman who promises signs and wonders, prosperity, who constantly tells them that God is going to bless them (while failing to mention the conditions attached to these promises). Preaching to people to live righteous lives, to work hard and honestly , to care for others is no longer on the preaching menu of many churches because it does not "sell".
  Why should this surprise us when the Holy Scriptures themselves clearly predict this kind of apostate behavior?

  But there is a place for corporate worship (fellowshipping with others). The Bible encourages believers to worship with others regularly. No person can grow spiritually without this scripturally mandated command from the Lord. In fact one sign that a person is falling away or becoming apostate is when out of pridefulness and arrogance they stop meeting with others to worship God. It is up to the believer to look for meaningful fellowship while at the same time remembering that a fellowship of believers is made up or imperfect people just like themselves. Christianity is not a lone ranger jorney.
  In animal wildlife, lions, hyenas and other predators seek out lone animals which are easier to kill because they are far more vulnerable.
  The issue here is about believers failing to have a meaningful and growing personal relationship with God through daily devotion(Bible study and prayer). This is of vital importance.
