  A person's behavior during the dating or courtship period is often a reliable pointer to the kind of person they will be once you marry them. Seems to me that he was mean and selfish during the courtship period based on what you are saying. He seems to be what some Psychologist call a "TAKER". Takers are people who always take and give little or nothing in return. They will spend your money, use you for sex or use you to achieve their career or vocational goals and often somewhere along the way they eventually dump you when they think you are no longer useful to them. He also seems to be lying to you. Madam you've said nothing about his work or employment.
  What about yourself? You come across as someone with low self-esteem. Are you employed OUTSIDE the home or are you earning any money? Do you see your role as that of just cooking and being available for his sexual needs? Maybe he now sees you as a burden because you are not contributing to your finances.
  In any case your marriage now seems to be on rather shaky ground and you definitely need marriage counselling with people who have life experience and whom you can trust. Close family are not always the best people to turn to for advice.
  It is hard for anybody to give you meaningful advice when you've given so little information about yourself ,your husband and your circumstances

  If you give them money during courtship, they thing you want to buy their loav with money. They want to be the head of the family so they want to be taking care of the house. Women don't want to humble themselves to the one who really loves them. They want to be controlling the man. Now you met the one who ladies really want.
  Please see your pastor and your parents. The statement your parents made, you misunderstood them. Taking care of the house financially is the duty of a husband. If you the lady you do it, you are actually helping, but if he is not the type that should be helped, please thingk twice.
  I am not asking you to divorce, but I cn only say you understand the severity of the situation at hand, not me.
