Don't be surprised that Ofori Amponsah is speaking this way; he just endorsed Mahama. His modus operandi is to tell Ghanaians that all is well at home and any perceived problems are due to external forces. Thus, Bawumia's incompetence within the confines of his much-touted economics expertise isn't the reason why the economy is in such a mess; it's external forces like covid. Yes, you read that right: China must be a suburb of Ghana. All the African countries doing better economically didn't have the misfortune of having Wuhan in its territory.
