This seems to reflect the mindset of many Ghanaian women, unfortunately. A lot of them appear to prioritize money and material gain over genuine connection. They often seem like they’re searching for the highest bidder who will spend on them.
Since moving to the UK, I’ve dated women from various backgrounds. Most of them were genuinely looking for compatibility and companionship. However, I decided to give dating a Ghanaian woman a shot, hoping to connect with someone from my own culture and take the relationship seriously.
Things went downhill just two weeks into the relationship. She started complaining about being broke, even though she worked as a nurse. Soon, it became about money for her hair, financial help for her brother back in Ghana, and requests for me to buy her different things. On top of that, I was already covering expenses like food, groceries, and lending her money—money she never repaid or even mentioned again. It all became too overwhelming, so I decided to end the relationship.
Now, I’m back to dating women from other nationalities who are genuinely seeking love and companionship. I’m happy to say I’ll soon be marrying my Kenyan fiancée. Something really needs to change when it comes to the attitudes I’ve encountered in some Ghanaian women!
