We can't help but ask you this fundamental question- why did you pick him as a friend? A prudent man is cautious in friendship. It is never a good idea to rush into friendship. The longer I live the more I find that it is very important to sometimes put the brakes on when new friends are rushing to get to know you or spend time with you.It has saved me trouble more than once. This is particularly true when you don't really know their background and especially if they seem reluctant to tell you about themselves. Where possible check their background especially if you are high profile, hight networth or occupy a sensitive position or career.
Be parrticularly wary of friends who show signs of envy or who seem to downplay your successes, who seem unable to rejpice with you when you rejoice (and we are not talking about boasting).
The fact remains that the kind of friends we have is greatly influenced by our own values ,moral and spiritual. If we have no solid values then we will likely lack the ability to make good decisions about life's key moments:

Chalee these are truly wise words. People should print this and tape it on the mirror to remind themselves. As a high networth person with a sensitive career, I can relate to everything you wrote. Am not capable of letting new friends into my life anymore and it took me a while to understand that it is not me. Too many fake people out there than genuine ones. We must be very cautious when it comes to friends in this day and age. Well said.
