  If we say that we are turning a new leaf then in order to make sure that we continue to walk on firm ground and ensure that we do not fall back to our old way of thinking ,talking living or old ways of behaving then we will need to review (stand back and take a hard look at the kind of associations and friends we hang out with)our lifestyle- and that includes how we dress.
  I wish I could say that asking the Lord to be our guide and guard is as easy as begining to attend a church or hanging out with recognised "Men of God".
  In order to grow in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we need the fellowship of other Christians and here-in lies the biggest challenge especially if we are a well known public figure.How do we start fellowship with other believers without attracting attention to ourselves, some of which will be good and some bad? Even the way we dress will come under scrutiny,the funny looks etc etc. Chursh is not a place to be a celebrity which is why many "Men of God" are in trouble today. Also my own experience over the years is that few churches can resist the temptation to capitalise on the presence of a well known, famous (infamous) person, public figure of authority or very rich person in their midst.Church culture ,alas has become infected with the celebrity culture of the secular world resulting sometimes in devasting consequences. Some churches will seek to use such a new high profile convert as a branding tool which is very wrong and inevitably leads to trouble.The use sportsmen, politicians,famous musicians ,actors/actresses much the same way companies such as Nike ,Nestle do in order to advertise their brand and to prove that they are also cool! A new Christian convert or baby Christian is a baby Christian even if they are the President of Ghana or the most famous musician on earth so it would be very foolish to give such a person a prominent role soon after their arrival on the seen. Within the church these roles should be assigned to a person who is far more spiritually mature even if they come from a less glamorous background or have less talent in a particular area than a new arrival. The Bible has much to say about appointing new Christians to prominent roles in the Church (1 Timothy 3:6)
  If the young lady is determined to begin a new life she will have to walk the difficult path of giving up a hither-to self-focussed life and replace this with obedience to Christ.It will not be an easy path but Christ promises to be with us. The rewards of following Christ are not often visible immediately but those who endure ,who persevere will do very well and will know His peace. Often walking in Christ will either enhance our God-given talents or in many other cases result in the discovery of new abilities. Let's never forget that we are called to Christ not because of our talents but rather because of His mercies to us sinners .His salvation is never earned. A church is full of forgiven sinners most of whom come with their own flaws.
  The other day I saw a wonderful Bible study covering the books of the Bible by a rather obscure but Bible centred individual on You-Tube. Each study is very brief rarely ever more than 10 minutes (most are between 5-10 minutes)
  Look up on Youtube "Adam's Bible Study Group". A good starting point would be the Gospels such as John,Matthew ,Mark and also the Psalms. All the Best and God Bless.
