I wonder how we keep saying rest in peace, rest peace without looking at the main problem. The problem is excessive burglar proof we have in our homes. When we install those burglar proofs, we should have at least one window as a fire escape and it should be easily opened in case there is fire. We have to think about this carefully. Just a couple of weeks ago, fire claimed the lives of an entire family in Kumasi because they were trapped by the burglar proof. We focus too much attention on armed robbers when building while neglecting other emergencies

That may not the case. But something must be done about the burglar proof issue. The engineers, technicians, designers, etc must design burglar proofs that can be opened at some point from within the room or house.

this your comment is actually what lead me into this section....say it again...Ghanaians are too dumb...i have been asking them about those so called turkey doors where there is a small lock that can be engaged from the inside, and when it is engaged (locked) the key cannot unlock it from outside...so if your kids inside, accidentally trigger that lock from inside and there is fire...they will all die... its like we pay or get taxed for using common sense!! almost every new home is getting that door....they put burglar proof in windows that is like 5 floors high....why not implement alarm systems?? hmmm it sad...any fire and the whole family will perish because the house was built by a fool for a fool!....no standards, no code to follow....make the windows easy open from the inside but impossible to open from the outside so that when there is fire, every person can easily escape!! Ghana, its 20205 oooh so stop the gyimiii wai... stupid contractors, stupid electricians, ...use internet for learning and upgrading.... china and tueky where you take all your building materials from...have building code of conduct for fire safety...they enforce those rules for every house they build....they dont have such issues in their country because they use their brains around what they do....you have been building homes in ghana the same way, iron rods in every window, even if the window is on 15th floor why???... after 3rd flow, all windows should have a no iron rods or should pass an easy escape route code....grow up na we are almost in 2030 wai...no more in 1990!

you cant even understand how a GHANAIAN EVEN THINK AT ALL....their door locks is soo secured that you leave the key in the lock from inside and nobody else can insert another key and university grads are proud about suck lock ...
