  Kwalba Baabu, why is your mouth full of filthy words? What Nana Romeo is saying makes a whole lot of sense. I know some years back during President Kwame Nkrumah's presidency, Ghana could boast of being truly Independent. We had factories scatted all over the Country, to name a few: Bolgatanga Meat factory- production of corned beef for local consumption and export, Bonsraso Tyre factory in the Western Region- production of Tyres for local consumption and export, Asutuare Sugar Factory in the Eastern Region-production of granulated sugar and cubes for local consumption, and export, Kade Match Factory- production of matches for local consumption and export. And, on top of all that, there was GIHOC- a conglomerate of factories under one big umbrella. Some of its products were: Soaps, Canned Food products like- Pineapple cuts, Pineapple juice, orange juice, Mango juice, Malt extracts, Canned tomatoes, and tomato juice, etc. Where are all the factories now? Kwalba Baabu, tell me and bear in mind that their products were exported to all African countries, Europe, and America. Unfortunately, not a single one of the factories exists today. So, Baabu, did we go, or did we come? Sadly, you seem to be asleep, and when somebody is waking you up from your sleep and backwardness, instead of you taking a cue from the knowledge he was imparting to make people aware of the shortcomings of our government responsibilities, you are talking trash to him. Why? Don't you want to progress in life? Your kind of attitude summarizes the reason why Ghana is still where it was before Independence. As President Nkrumah said in a speech, ' The Independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it's free from colonialism and imperialism". Baabu, it's time you wake up from your slumber, and look at your surroundings to see if you are happy with what you see.

  Too many of these negative commentories lately. There's nothing wrong with Ghana. We are not doing that bad. Yes we could have done more. In this era of globalization, very few countries are self reliance. The recent Ukrainian and Russian war exposed even the developed western Europe.
  Yes it's true we still receive aids from the west. But these people took soo much from us and still does . To say celebrating our independence is needless isn't right. We are doing just fine

Instead of pushing our leaders to do what we expect of them and not mediocre performances, it seems to me that, you are content with their mediocre and poor performances. I don't think it should be viewed as bad or improper when a citizen expresses openly the shortcomings of our leaders. After all, what every Ghanaian wants for our beloved country called Ghana, is progress and the best for Ghana and Ghanaians, and it would be absolutely, unpatriotic for anyone to stand idle by, and watch the country's leaders not living up to the expectations of the people who put them in office. The country has been in decline for the past several years, it's about time that people speak out and say something to effect a change to the right and progressive direction of Ghana. One thing for certain is that we should not compromise or look up to Ghana's prosperity on what happens in other parts of the world.

  Nana Kyeamee, what kind of achievement should we be proud of? Free education and kids sitting under trees in some districts to learn? Are we a progressing country or regressing? Some years ago, after President Nkrumah gained Independence from the Colonial and Imperialist so-called masters, he worked hard and built Ghana Black Star Line and Ghana Airways. The two establishments were the envy of some African countries, particularly South of the Saharan countries, and some Eastern European countries. Where are the two establishments now? The pride of Ghana! Sadly, the two establishments that were for some years ago, the pride of Ghanaians, have evaporated into thin air, even though, Ghana has in the past fifty years or so, seen at least six governments. None of the leaders made any effort to resurrect or revive the support and livelihood of the two establishments. Even, some African countries that saw Ghana get its Independence before theirs, have passed us by and are now flying high in Aviation and flying Ghanaians continental. Nana kyeamee, if you consider where Ghana is today and where it was during President Kwame Nkrumah's Presidency, and you think that the country is in a better shape today than before, I think, you should put things in their true perspective before you say
