Nonsense. Polygamy is part of the reason for Africans spitting out children that they can't afford to adequately care for, resulting in constant search for relief in foreign lands. Selfish African men will always come out with some lame excuse in support of polygamy, and antiquated practice that serves the selfish desires of men while treating women like chattel. Polygamy lacks any good in todays ever-changing world. Can Jim Lyke point to a single place in Africa that has had its problems solved by the practice of polygamy? Gone are the days when Africans could engage in polygamy and only have to be concerned about providing minimal basic care for children of polygamous unions when most Africans were not exposed to Western influences.

Most marriages dissolve in less than 10 years.
African men don’t do this , we don’t use women and dump like they do. We rather marry additional, making the earlier wife a senior in the house.

Monogamy was European Christian concept of marriage. However it did not protect women.
European men were married girls from fourteen years to sixteen years. The women are not allowed to feed their babies with their breast in noble homes. So they employed a Nanny who feed their babies with her breast milk.
In those noble homes when the men found out that the women are getting old they cause their death and marry a young woman who if from fourteen to sixteen years.
So in those days, the middle ages and 19th century men who are 60 years and over who are widowers married girls who were 14 years to 16 years.
Muslims have polygamous life, however men or boys are to marry at 14 and girls at 9.
But will polygamy be only for men and not women? I am of the view that if men have the right to marry as many women they like, then women also have the right to marry as many men they like.
That has been a norm in primitive societies.
