But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

(2)New International Version
But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.

(3)New Living Translation
But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.

THIS IS JUST THE ESSENCE OF PROPHECIES AND PROPHETS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT DISPENSATION: THREE THINGS
(i) EDIFICATION/ STRENGTHENING
(ii) EXHORTATION/ ENCOURAGEMENT
(iii) COMFORT

DOES THAT MEAN PEOPLE DID NOT DIE DURING THEIR TIME?
DOES THAT MEAN PEOPLE DID NOT RECEIVE WARNINGS ABOUT DEATHS?

THEY DID IN ALL CASES; BUT THE FOCUS IS NOT ABOUT BRINGING FEAR, PANIC, UNCERTAINTY, MISERY, DISCOMFORT etc. etc. etc. TO THE BODY OF CHRIST.
