  I bought a plot of land from one Ga Landowner. On a high ground by Ashomang Estates. Months later, he welcomed me upon my visit there. What's up, I asked? "I will give you another one" he said. What an Obaake!

High food prices. I guess solving one of these would have earned him/her a very good legacy. The word 'Akwaaba' has been a Ghanaian symbol many years before some of us were born. Just as Akosombo dam is a 'Ghanaian ' so is Akwaaba. Who doesn't know Kotoka Int. Airport was built by Kwame Nkrumah? Tell me which nzema has started a campaign to change the name ? We should be serious as matured nation and start figuring out solutions to our economic problems rather than these petty petty tribal sentiment. We are one people one nation and the word 'Akwaaba' didn't come from Nicaragua but Ghana.

They have planned on this for a long time to create anti Asante hatred thinking Akwaaba is only an Asante word. Akwaaba, like Sankofa are now global words and symbols associated with Ghana, and these fools are attacking one of them due to inferiority complex. That Akwaaba sign has been at Kotoka Airport since Nkrumah's time. Why don't they remove the Kotoka name while they are at it?

  I have lived in Accra for 30 years and never knew that Welcome in Ga is OOBAKE. I am happy to know now. I agree to the change. Ghana is a multi ethic society. All regions with airports should incorporate the local language to welcoming visitors on all signboards. This is not a challenge to any tribe in Ghana. It is a reasonable call.
