The ability to make the right choice in turn is determined primarily by the values and principles we hold dear in our hearts, in other words our character because this is what will fundamentally determine the choices we make.
Do we practice INTEGRITY OR HONESTY, DO WE BELIEVE IN LOYALTY AND FAITHFULNESS AND DO WE PRACTISE THESE, DO WE VALUE TRUTHFULNESS, CONSIDERATION AND RESPECT FOR OTHERS, GENTLENESS (WHICH SOME WRONGLY CONSIDER TO BE A SIGN OF WEAKNESS), DO WE PRACTICE FORGIVENESS?
DO WE BELIEVE IN THE VALUE OF HONEST HARD WORK IN ORDER TO BUILD FINANCIAL SECURITY, ARE WE DESICIPLINED IN OUR SPENDING (ARE WE FRUGAL OR HAVE FORMED THE VITAL HABIT OF CAREFUL BUDGETING)? IN OTHER WORDS, DO WE UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THE TERM “DELAYED GRATIFICATION”?

Other factors such as GOOD LOOKS, RICHES, HAVING A DESIRABLE FOREIGN PASSPOT, HAVING GREAT SOCIAL CONNECTIONS ARE SECONDARY. They are a bonus only when our choices are first determined by the PRIMARY OR CRITICAL CHOICES BASED ON A PERSON’S CHARACTER AND VALUES OR PRINCIPLES.
Basing a very important life-long union such as marriage mainly on these SECONDARY rather than on the PRIMARY CRITERIA listed above criteria will inevitably lead to disappointment heartache and emotional or psychological trauma.
SO THEREFORE, LET US CHOOSE WELL SO THAT WE CAN HAVE A LIFETIME PARTNER WHO WILL TRAVEL THE OFTEN TOUGH AND DIFFICULT MARATHON RACE CALLED MARRIAGE.GOOD, HAPPY MARRIAGES FILLED WITH CONTENTMENT ARE THE REWARD A COUPLE EARN WHEN THEY HAVE PERSERVERED,HAVE BEEN TENACIOUS AND HAVE BOTH INVESTED A GREAT DEAL OF TIME AND EFFORT INTO THEIR MARRIAGE IN SPITE OF SETBACKS,CHALLENGES AND DISAPPOINMENTS.
