They always attach themselves to some prominent personality, dead or alive.
Contrast this with the Prophets of old in the Bible who spent most of their time fearlessly admonishing and urging people, including kings and other leaders to turn away from their evil ways. As a result, many of these TRUE PROPHETS lost their lives or were at the very least imprisoned tortured or exiled. Most of today's mostly self-acclaimed prophets in comparison suck up to powerful politicians, the very rich or popular figures in our societies. Many of todays self-styled "Prophets" have opulent lifestyles, live in mansions, dine at the most exclusive restaurants and are chauffeur driven in expensive Mercs, BMWs etc. Some even aspire to acquire Private Jets. Very few of our latter day "prophets" bother to preach about repentance and righteousness or living to please God. Godliness is no longer a priority. Rather they promise prayers for the instant miracles, instant prosperity many crave for. In return these Sheeple give generous donations.
NOTE THAT THERE IS A PROPER PLACE FOR GIVING TO THE LORD IN APPRECIATION FOR WHAT HE DOES FOR US BUT FOLK NEED TO GO BACK TO THE BIBLE TO FIND OUT WHAT THE LORD HAS TO SAY ABOUT THE ACTS OF GIVING AND GENEROSITY. These days you don't have to be a top-notch Bible scholar to know where to look for the appropriate supporting scripture verses. THERE ARE LOADS OF EXCELLENT BIBLE COMMENTARIES APPS (Android and IOS) AND ONLINE SUCH AS E-SWORD, MY SWORD (This has to be downloaded for android from the MySword web site as it is not available on Google store), ENDURING WORD COMMENTARY AND BROWSER BASED COMMENTARIES SUCH AS "TRUTH ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE" AND MANY MORE.
