If our chosen vocation, career or calling is not feeding us or our family then we need to question the direction we are going. For sure during our career development, we may experience brief periods of hardships, but very prolonged periods of financial difficulty should make us question the wisdom of the path we are travelling on. For example, if I am a very talented artist or musician but year after year, I am unable to support my wife and children then I either must find an additional source of income or change my choice of career.
NOT EVERY TALENT LEADS TO TANGIBLE SUCCESS. MOST DON’T! About 3 decades ago a classmate of mine who was a very talented Pianist relocated to a European country. He soon found that his talents were not that appreciated in that country and he had to survive on whatever opportunities he could get to play for bands etc. He got married and his situation became even more desperate. He started night school and a decade later qualified as a solicitor. He still plays beautiful music at private concerts and in his local Church but is NOT DEPENDENT ON THIS FOR HIS INCOME. He is now doing very well financially.
This gentleman saw the light and like many sensible individuals he did not allow his "talent" to lead him astray. In fact, he now quite rightly lists on his personal web site his Piano playing as a” HOBBY”.
Some individuals fail to develop as a person because they are "STUCK ON STUPID" AND REFUSE TO SEE THEIR HOBBY FOR WHAT IT IS.
A Hobby is "an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure".

Too many of us are WAITING for God to give us that "breakthrough2 while in actual fact God is waiting for us to make the first move. IT IS TIME FOR US TO PUT DOWN THAT TV REMOTE CONTROL, STOP WATCHING NETFLIX FOR HOURS AND HOURS and use that time more productively. Hobbies can become a snare if we are not disciplined preventing us from making the best use of our time and effort. It is far more profitable in the long-term to use that to study and acquire NEW SKILLS so that when God sends new opportunities your way you will be well placed and qualified to seize them.
