  Madam I hope you have factored in the effect of inflation which depreciates (reduces) the value of your PAPER (Fiat) currency over several years. So, for example one dollar or one pound bought more stuff say 20 years ago than it does now because of INFLATION. This happens everywhere in the world. Another way of describing it is to say that THE PURCHASING POWER of your money falls over time (in other words your money automatically devalues over the years). This is why smart people invest IN ASSETS THAT TEND TO INCREASE IN VALUE WITH TIME, such as real estate, agricultural land, gold and many others.
  I remember listening to legendary investor Jim Rogers about 20 years ago telling the audience about a chap who decided to retire at 35 years because he had made 5 million US dollars in the early 1960s.By the beginning of the 1990s this man was forced to work in a petrol station to make ends meet. His problem was that he hadn't made allowance for the natural increase in inflation that happens with time and which causes a fall in the purchasing power of paper (fiat) money due to the rising prices of food, fuel and other essentials.
  By 1990 one US Dollar was only worth about a third of its value in 1960.
  Today ONE 1960 dollar would be worth approximately TEN 2026 US DOLLARS!
  
  SO, UNLESS A PERSON MAKES ALLOWANCE FOR RISING INFLATION WHICH HAPPENS WITH TIME (RESULTING IN THE RISING COST OF EVERYTHING) THEN THEY COULD BE IN FOR A TERRIBLE SHOCK 15, 20 OR 30 YEARS DOWN THE ROAD EVEN IF THEY HAVE A FEW MILLION DOLLARS TO START WITH IN THEIR BANK ACCOUNT RIGHT NOW.
  A SENSIBLE PERSON WITH SAY THE EQUIVALENT OF 10 MILLION USA DOLLARS TODAY WOULD BE WISE IF THEY INVESTED AT LEAST SOME OF TJIS MONEY IN ASSETS THAT GROW AND, IN THE MEANTIME, AVOID WASTEFUL SPENDING. UNFORTUNATELY, TOO MANY OF US AS SOON AS WE GET A LITTLE BIT OF MONEY, WE WANT TO IMPRESS FRIENDS, RELATIVES AND EVEN STRANGERS BY WASTING MONEY ON ITEMS THAT LOSE VALUE WITH TIME SUCH AS FINE CLOTHING OR AUTOMOBILES. ALSO EATING OUT REGULALRLY AT VERY EXPENSIVE RESTAURANTS AND THROWING BIG EXPENSIVE PARTIES IS ONE SURE WAY TO GET BROKE VERY QUICKLY.
