Evangelist Papa Shee has sparked social media debate after leading the opening session of a three-day intercessory crusade for Akosua Serwaa, wife of the late Daddy Lumba, in Accra.

The event, held at Obra Spot on Thursday, February 19, 2026, was organised to offer spiritual support to Akosua Serwaa amid plans to hold a funeral for her late husband.

The prayers were intended to strengthen her with protection and divine guidance.

Viral videos captured Papa Shee leading prayers and deliverance sessions. Some attendees appeared overwhelmed, with several weeping or falling to the ground as he laid hands on them.

Despite the emotional scenes, the opening session recorded low attendance, with footage revealing many empty chairs at the venue.

Social media users questioned the purpose of the crusade and criticised Papa Shee’s involvement, with some asking why a musician was spearheading such an event.

Notably, Akosua Serwaa was absent from the ceremony, with reports stating that she had returned to Germany, where she resides.

Meanwhile, the three-day programme is expected to continue as scheduled.

Papa Shee arrived in Accra for his crusade, but the event saw a low turnout, with less than one-tenth of the seats filled. Despite the small crowd, he remained encouraged and continued ministering. Attendees reportedly experienced powerful prayers and miracles, proving that the impact of the crusade was not defined by the number of people present but by the lives touched.
