Singer Efya (L) says Nana Agradaa (R) will dupe people again
Ex-convicted Ghanaian preacher Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has become a trending topic on social media following her release on March 3, 2026.
After serving a one-year jail term, the controversial televangelist’s return sparked reactions from several public figures, including multiple award-winning Ghanaian singer Efya. Efya reacted to a viral video showing one of Agradaa’s church members appearing to be under anointing and rolling on the floor during a church service.

Expressing disappointment, the singer questioned the actions of the congregants and cast doubt on whether Agradaa had truly changed. According to Efya, she believes the former convict may repeat her past actions at the “right” time.
“She’s fitting to do it to y’all again and again… we gon see..!!” she wrote.
Background
On February 5, 2026, Agradaa appeared before the Amasaman High Court for judgment in her appeal. After several hours of proceedings, the court reduced her initial 15-year sentence to 12 months on counts two and three. She was also fined 200 penalty units (GHC2,400) and ordered to refund GHC1,000 to her two complainants, in addition to fines imposed under count one.
Nana Agradaa released from prison
The court reportedly described the original 15-year hard labour sentence as harsh and excessive. While upholding her conviction, the judge exercised discretion to vary the punishment. The revised sentence, which took effect from July 3, 2025, the date of her conviction, meant that the founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry was to serve a total of one year in prison.
