A video of Dr Charis, the newlywed wife of the Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo Constituency, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has surfaced online following their private wedding ceremony.

In the video, sighted by GhanaWeb on Monday, March 9, 2026, Dr Charis was seen jokingly expressing her surprise at seeing videos from their wedding trending online despite the ceremony being a private event.

“I have changed, so I don’t make videos just anyhow, but I am pained because it is only in Ghana that you will watch your own marriage on TikTok.

“I am moving from blogger to blogger looking for my own wedding video to watch, even though it was supposed to be a private ceremony,” she said.

Dr Charis also shared that she wanted to speak her mind one last time before officially embracing the role of a Member of Parliament’s wife.

“I am in my grace period because from next week, my attitude and the way I speak must change since I am now a big man’s wife, so I have to appear more demure. But for now, I want to say whatever I want.

“When my father asked me if they should accept the drinks, I almost told them that I wanted to go and think about it. Those of you who say that if your family doesn’t accept the drinks, something bad will happen to you, you are full of wonders,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament tied the knot in a private ceremony in Nkoranza.

Videos from the wedding surfaced online on March 7, 2026, sparking conversations on social media.
