Nana Ama McBrown is a Ghanaian actress and media personality
Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has revealed plans to shift her support towards female musicians.
She cited a lack of appreciation from some male artistes she has promoted over the years.
Speaking in a show on Onua TV on March 23, 2026, McBrown noted that she has realised she hasn’t done enough to promote female artistes on her platforms and is now determined to change that.
“I think we don’t support Ghanaian female musicians enough. Recently, I realized I’ve not been using the female artistes’ songs on my social media platforms. I’ve decided to switch and focus more on the females,” she said.
She also expressed disappointment in the way some male artistes have responded to the support she has given them, stating that they often fail to show appreciation.

“The male artistes I normally support don’t get me gifts. Even when they travel, they don’t buy perfume for me. I would be in the sun and using their songs for content. I don’t want them to spend a lot on me, but at least perfume is not expensive, so they could afford it,” she shared.
McBrown, however, singled out Fameye for his thoughtful gesture, revealing that he personally visited her with gifts after she supported his music.
“The artiste who showed appreciation when I used his songs for videos was Fameye. He came to my house with some goodies, including food. He did so well, and I wasn’t even expecting that from him,” she disclosed.
She emphasised that while she would never take money from artistes, showing appreciation is important.
“I wouldn’t take money from any artiste, but they should show enough appreciation,” she added.
