Music critic and commentator Steve Owusu, popularly known as The Shishishi Man, has expressed disappointment over Piesie Esther's absence from the Artiste of the Year category at the pending Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) 2026.
Speaking on the TGMA Countdown show on GhanaWeb TV with host Elsie Lamar, Shishishi Man said his only gripe with nominations was the failure to include Piesie Esther as a standalone Artiste of the Year nominee.
"So far so good, but my only disappointment is the fact that Piesie Esther didn't make it to the Artiste of the Year as a stand-alone. Without that, I'm good with everything," he said.

He argued that Piesie Esther's body of work and achievements over the period have made her deserving of the slot.
When asked whether he was drawing a comparison between Piesie Esther and fellow gospel heavyweight Diana Hamilton (who did secure a nomination), Shishishi Man was quick to clarify his position.
"No, I'm not comparing anybody. I need Diana there, I need Piesie there (as well)," he stated.
He, however, expressed relief that she earned recognition in the Most Popular Song of the Year category.
On the Gospel Song of the Year category, however, Shishishi Man was more measured, saying every act on the list deserved their nomination.
"Whoever made it to the list deserves to be there," he said.
