Fresh details have emerged amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the marriage of Ghanaian Guinness World Record singathon contender Afua Asantewaa and her husband, Kofi Owusu Aduonum.

In a TikTok post shared on April 6, 2026, Afua Asantewaa reflected on an old video of herself carrying a baby during what appeared to be a business meeting.

The video addressed claims circulating on social media that she lived off her husband’s income.

Afua dismissed allegations that she depended solely on a media salary, stating that she worked multiple jobs while raising her child.

She shared the video with the caption, “I carried my child 24/7 while running about four events, GOWA, Miss KIDI, Pose for Africa, Africa Outstanding Women Awards, within a year, working with over 10 sponsors.

“…And they claim a media monthly salary made me. So I have nothing? It is well.”

She further urged women to strive and earn their own income. Afua emphasised that women should not be perceived as relying on men as their sole source of wealth.

“Women, make your own money no matter what. When your hard work is rubbished, the results will speak for you,” she added.
