It is not a judge's responsibility to discourage divorce. If the marriage isn't working despite several attampts to resolve issues, or abusive marriage or all the human issues that come with marriage, it is ok to divorce. You can't force people to stay in an unfunctional marriage.
The woman should be given what is due her. It is nonsensical for a judge to give her small amount because he wants to discourage divorce

It shows that men who set up a company, then make their wives a share holder are in for a rough ride in the future.

There are many times that Ghanaian business men set up a limited liability company then make theor wives a share holder so that it'll have a better image and bargaining power especially for the financial institutions to favour them.

These women don't know jack about the company but because their names are on the memorandum, they claim they started the company with the woman.

This mentality of keeping the assets of a company in the family should be stopped as women today are not like our mothers.

The moment they see the company is doing well, they decide to check out of the marriage and take a share.

The modern woman see marriage as business.

This case, I blame Dame for her losing it. If she claims to be a founder and shareholder of Bills, then it is not through divorce that she should seek to get her shares. What the lawyer should have done was go after the husband’s shares in the company as property acquired in the subsistence of the marriage.

That she is a founder and shareholder are facts that she would have to prove because they are provable.

To seek to get her shares of the companies through divorce means her lawyer didn’t read the judgment in the Odartey Lamptey v Gloria Lamptey case..

Most likely her appeal will fail and unless she has evidence on being a founder and shareholder, her lawyer has disappointed and failed her.

The facts in this case is different. I am very sure the man set up the company and inserted his wife as she was in the Memorandum as many men in Ghana do.

These men structure the company this way to keep the assets of the company in the family but these modern women have become greedy so they see the company thriving then they start problems so that the get a share.

This is why the woman did not know jack about the company and indeed why she has no document on the company.

Men in Ghana are now wising up and not attaching their wives to their assets.

When Ghanaian feminists were aggitating for their liberation and independence, they never thought this collateral damage will follow.

Due to these cases, men will be very very careful of their relationships with women as its happeining in the Western world.

Women in the West are up in arms for these laws to be reversed but its far gone.
