Not winning Best Urban Gospel at TGMA would be a big blow - Scott Evans

Ghanaian gospel musician Scott Evans has declared himself a strong favourite for the Best Urban/Contemporary Gospel Song of the Year at this year's Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

According to him, missing out on the honour would be a major disappointment.

Speaking on Hitz FM on April 14, 2026, the artiste stated, "If I don't win, it will be a big blow. I believe I've worked hard and deserve this award."

Scott Evans pointed to his consistency in the gospel music space and the significant effort he has invested over the years as the basis for his confidence.

He added that strong fan support and an active campaign ahead of the awards have further bolstered his belief in his chances.

He also drew comparisons to other categories at the awards, where outcomes tend to be predictable, suggesting his body of work over the past year places him firmly in that bracket of near-certain contenders.
