Fameye appeals for collaboration with Shatta Wale

Ghanaian Highlife musician Fameye has opened up about the apparent break in his relationship with dancehall musician Shatta Wale, revealing his desire to reconnect and collaborate with him.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on April 16, 2026, Fameye expressed concern over Shatta Wale’s sudden change in attitude towards him, stating that their once close bond has faded without any clear explanation.

According to Fameye, the two artistes previously shared a strong friendship and communicated frequently, even making plans to work on songs together.

However, he noted that things have unexpectedly taken a different turn.

“One person I really need his verse on my song is Shatta Wale, but it seems he’s upset with me. We were very good friends, and we used to talk a lot. We were even planning to have records together. I don’t know what happened, but all of a sudden, he’s not minding me,” he said.

Fameye shared that he is unaware of any wrongdoing on his part that may have triggered the situation, stressing that he always acts with good intentions.

“I don’t know if I said something about him somewhere, and he’s not happy with it. To the best of my knowledge, I’m a very genuine person. I do things with clear intentions so even if I did something, it’s not in a bad way,” he explained.

He further disclosed that communication between them has completely broken down, as Shatta Wale no longer responds to his messages.

“At first, we used to communicate on a daily basis, but now, he doesn’t respond to my messages,” he lamented.

Fameye maintained that he still holds Shatta Wale in high regard, praising both his music and personality.

He also reiterated his interest in working with the dancehall artiste, emphasizing that his intentions go beyond just a feature.

“I just want him to know I love him, I listen to his songs and I like his personality. I really need his verse in my studio, but it’s not just because I need him in my studio, but I feel he’s a nice person to work with and I want to be close to him,” he added.
