Agya Koo says Ken Agyapong is not involved with the party
Kumawood actor turned politician Agya Koo has quashed growing speculation linking former New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong to his newly launched political party, The Base Movement.
The denial comes on the heels of the actor's high-profile storming of Accra to officially register the party, followed by a campaign stop at Circle to drum up support for the movement.
In a video sighted by GhanaWeb, Agya Koo, speaking to the media, was certain that Ken Agyapong has no ties to the party, at least for now.
"Kennedy Agyapong has not even thought about supporting us in any way. Remember, he made it clear in his concession speech that he remains with the NPP and has given no signal to us, the BASE leaders, of any plan to take charge," he said.

However, Agya Koo said the door is wide open if Kennedy Agyapong decides to join.
"NPP is our base. If Ken decides to join, he is welcome," he added.
The actor also revealed that a number of professionals, including lawyers and businessmen, have already declared their support, with mobilisation efforts still ongoing.
