Kumchacha has criticised TGMA organizers
Media personality and founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has criticized organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards over the lack of a confirmed venue for the upcoming 27th edition of the awards.
Speaking on United Showbiz on UTV Ghana, Kumchacha described the situation as a clear sign of poor planning, especially for an event with more than two decades of industry experience.
According to him, the inability to secure a venue so close to the event raises serious concerns about the organizers’ preparedness. He stressed that for a scheme of the TGMA’s stature, venue arrangements should be one of the earliest priorities, not a last-minute challenge.

“The organizers in charge of the work are all poor. How do you have an event on the 9th of May, and as of 18th April, you don’t have a venue? They should at least have two venues by now, so if one doesn’t work, the other one would be available,” he said
Kumchacha further noted that event organizers should always have contingency plans in place.
He explained that having at least two alternative venues ensures that if one option falls through, another can be activated without disrupting preparations.
Drawing a comparison to his own line of work, he pointed out that even prophets take similar precautions when organizing crusades.
“Even we as prophets, when we are organizing events outside, we scout two places because there are instances where we go, and we face problems at our scouted locations. So when that happens, we have an alternative,” he added.
He implied, questioning why a major national awards scheme like the TGMAs would fail to adopt such basic planning strategies.
With the event just weeks away, his comments add to growing concerns about the readiness of this year’s awards ceremony.
