  Afro Beats closely follow a musical style called Reggaeton, first developed in the 80s by Latinos in Panama and refined into the 90s in Puerto Rico. It is a Spanish- language version of Dancehall Music copied from Jamaica. In fact, any African Artiste can easily modify these Latino Beats, make them Afro. Similarly, singing in Spanish over Afro Rhythms instantly turns it around. I think this is what Fat Joe is stressing on, that the Latino popular culture blossomed into Afrobeats. There’s no question about this. Just listen to a few Reggaeton hits and you see the connection.
  
  Here’s what Fat Joe missed: From Reggae to Reggaeton, the African Beat keeps vibing. From 60s and 70s, two of the most celebrated “beat” Musicians to maintain that consistency were Fela Kuti and Manu Dibango. So Afrobeats becoming popular in Africa and taking the world by storm is not about copying the Latinos. It’s something we originally created before it traveled to the Caribbean and passed Panama, Puerto Rico. Cuban, Brazilian and African American Music all have their roots in Africa but in improvised, experimented, refined, adjusted forms. No Jamaican would say Africans are copying their music when Shatta Wale starts screaming like kakai. So Bros, easy, don’t insult. Don’t argue with someone who doesn’t know.
