'I prefer dating older women to my age mates' – Olivetheboy

Musician Olivetheboy has indicated that dating women his age comes with a lot of stress, adding that he prefers older women in relationships.

Speaking in an interview with MC Portfolio on Kumasi-based Angel FM, the ‘Asylum’ hitmaker, when asked about some of the craziest DMs he had ever received from a follower, recounted a message from a female fan who expressed an unusual request.

“The follower told me that even if I cannot be with her, then she wants to have one child with me. But this was a long time ago. At that time, I was still younger,” he disclosed.

Olivetheboy said he has not met the follower in person, but he knew the person was older, and then went on to say that he prefers older women.

“I like them older though; my age mates come with so much stress,” he noted.

When asked to specify the age range he prefers, the musician said he is comfortable dating women between 26 and 35 years. He added that while he prefers older women, those above 40 are a bit too much for him.

He also touched on the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards scheduled for May 9, 2026, expressing hope that Wendy Shay wins the Artiste of the Year award.

“I am very happy for her. I hope she wins it because everyone on that list deserves it; that is why they have been nominated. She has done well for herself,” he stated.
