Award-winning Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has revealed that amongst his nine nominations at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), the one award he desperately wants to win is Album of the Year for his project, “Iron Boy”.

Speaking on the Onua Showtime, Blacko explained that the project took him three years of planning, sacrifice, patience, and hard work to complete.

According to him, the process behind the album changed his entire mindset and taught him valuable life lessons he never imagined he needed.

“My whole career life, Iron Boy is the project that really took a lot from me. I started work on Iron Boy in 2022, a month after my debut album. It took us three years. Some of the videos for the album were shot it a year before the songs came out,” he explained

Black Sherif disclosed that work on the album officially began in 2022, a month after the release of his debut album. He explained that even before “Iron Boy” dropped, he was already heavily involved in activations and preparations leading to the release.

The musician added that immediately after the album was released, he embarked on a major tour run, beginning the very night the project dropped. He toured Europe and America.

“We started activating Iron boy late January 2025 from South Africa, then February we were in Tanzania, March we were in London and USA then the next month we dropped the album and we went on tour.” He stated

According to him, the success of the album has brought him joy and reinforced his belief in patience and proper planning. He noted that despite feeling overwhelmed at times, he remains grateful to God for guiding him throughout the journey.

“All of that coming together has brought me some kind of fulfillment to see that something I planned in my head could actually come together successfully after three years. Everything else I’ve done since then has been thanks and gratitude. God has made me know how it feels to be successful,” Blacko said

Black Sherif further stated that winning Album of the Year would mean a lot to him because it would serve as proof that every sacrifice, sleepless night, and moment of patience invested into “Iron Boy” was worth it and truly appreciated.
