Ghanaian actress and social media personality, Abena Serwaa Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Shugatiti, has opened up about a past relationship she had as a teenager.

She revealed that she once dated a married man she met online.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Atuu on May 3, 2026, Shugatiti disclosed that she met the man, a doctor, when she was just 17 years old.

According to her, she lied about her age at the time, telling him she was 19.

“I once met a doctor who helped me before starting my lifestyle. He was so helpful and advised me a lot. I met him when I was 17, but I lied to him that I was 19. He was married, and I met him on a dating site. I met nice people on the dating app, actually,” she said.

She explained that she joined the dating platform out of boredom due to restrictions at home, particularly from her stepmother.

“I started using the app because of boredom. My stepmother used to sack me whenever I got closer to her or tried to watch a movie with her after my chores, so I would go inside and stay on my phone.

“When she saw me with a phone, she would inform my dad, so I never let her know I had one. I was only entertained by the phones I bought with the money my dad gave me,” she recounted.

Shugatiti noted that after uploading her photos on the platform, she received numerous messages from men, which eventually led to her relationship with the doctor.

She further revealed that the relationship ended after the man reconciled with his wife.

“When I uploaded my pictures on the dating site, I woke up to a lot of messages from men. I started dating the doctor, but didn’t know he was with me because he fought with his wife. He broke up with me after he resolved their marital issues,” she stated.

Despite how the relationship ended, Shugatiti acknowledged the positive role the man played in her early life, especially in supporting her ambitions.

“He asked me what I wanted to do with my life, and I told him my plans of learning how to do makeup. He helped me with the fees, and aside from that, he took me on trips, gave me money for upkeep, so I was doing well,” she added.
