Life is something complex. Human relation is also complex, so there are times we need not blame anyone for happenings like this, not ourselves, the Devil and even the one you had the affair with.
Biologically, as I come to the conclusion, human beings were not born for one man or one woman. Thus, in the primitive society there was nothing like husband and wife.
This was proved by Darwin during his travels in the Pacific Islands, where there was no family, but tribes and clans.
To further prove what I am saying, let's refer to the philosophical book by Friedrich Engels, a friend of Karl Marx, "The Origin of Family, Private Property and State".
Love is something biological, its not about going to the market to buy something.
Though there is an Ewhe proverb that even when a child ant had sex with the mother it becomes public. But I beg to state that its only when a witness decides to spread the story that he or she should not spread. To me if someone loves his son or a son loves is mother its a matter between the two of them.
A mother who loves her son had quarrels with the son and does not want any other woman to come in between them. According to the son, he did his best not to have sexual intercourse with his mother, and that hurt the mother so much.
It is a big trouble with a woman want to take you to bed and you refuse.
So, in the nutshell, it has happened and not everything that happens under the sun should be exposed to the public.
Don't feel guilty, that is human biological nature, so tell those who gossip about you and your son that he is the son of your husband.
It is a fact that the state will cease to exist one day, then the family will follow. Since the state and family are not biological relations, but social ones. Time will come that some social taboos and norms will be discarded by society. That will be the time one need not hide his or her feeling for a man or woman. Even when your grandmother loves you, you will love her back, for her to feel that someone loves her, that she is not alone.

I think if your husband does not ask you anything, never confess it but if he does, it is morally right to tell him the truth. I believe you know your husband well, and prepare yourself psychologically for whatever outcome. I won't blame you as such because we are living organisms and have feelings. We direct these feelings mostly to opposite sexes depending on differences in our biological make-up.
