Stage acting keeps me alive – Fred Amugi

Veteran Ghanaian actor Fred Amugi has reaffirmed his passion for stage acting, describing it as the very thing that keeps him going.

Speaking in an interview on MX24 on May 5, 2026, Fred Amugi revealed that his continued involvement in stage acting plays a significant role in his happiness and well-being.

“Till now, I’m still doing the stage, which is keeping me alive. Every day, I have some lines to learn, talk to people and be around people below and above my age. Mingling with all sorts of people alone is my happiness,” he said.

According to him, acting is not just a profession but a lifelong passion that continues to sustain him both emotionally and financially.

“Acting is my life and it’s the major thing that puts food on my table,” he added.
