I still remember when as a pupil in my holy village pupil are canned on Mondays upon an edict from the Catholic Church that pupil should not sing, dance and watch African music and dance.

In the case of dippo, the conscience of spectators are tuned to observation of traditional puberty rites and it is usually held in a particular venue and it usually involves teenagers. What happened on the streets of Accra is not the observation of any traditional rites but a twist of tradition by grown ups showing off their sexual prowess to teenagers on the streets. That act cannot be said to normal in our Ghanaian traditional settings and must be condemned absolutely because it was very embarrassing and shameful to womanhood in Ghana
