American actor Boris Kodjoe has opened up about why he chose to partner with GhanaWeb for his Full Circle Africa initiative, stating that the collaboration aligns with his vision of reshaping the global narrative about Africa.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Patience Adu, Boris Kodjoe noted that GhanaWeb’s longstanding commitment to telling authentic African stories made the partnership a natural fit.

“We are very proud to partner with GhanaWeb because GhanaWeb has been telling African stories for a long time. And any time we can amplify real stories and not support old stereotypical biases and old narratives that the western media has perpetuated over decades, I want to be part of it,” he said.

The Hollywood actor stressed the importance of Africans reclaiming ownership of their stories and identity on the global stage.

“I want to be part of the new narrative of Africa. I want to be part of Africa claiming its rightful place and being an author to their own stories and thereby defining their global identity,” he added.

According to Boris Kodjoe, Africa’s story goes beyond the often negative portrayals pushed by some foreign media outlets, insisting that the continent is filled with innovation, diversity, opportunities, and complex realities that deserve global attention.

Describing GhanaWeb as a trusted partner, he commended the platform for continuously projecting authentic African voices to the world.

“GhanaWeb is a trusted partner, a company that has again amplified the real, authentic voices of Africa. Voices that speak of innovation, of complexity, of diversity, and of opportunity,” he stated.

The Full Circle Africa initiative, championed by Boris Kodjoe, seeks to reconnect people of African descent to the continent while promoting tourism, culture, investment, and authentic storytelling about Africa.
