2026 TGMAs: ‘Medikal deserves Artiste of the Year’ - Beeztrap

2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards New Artiste of the Year winner, Beeztrap KOTM, has tipped Medikal to win the coveted Artiste of the Year prize at the 27th edition of the awards scheme.

Speaking to GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie on the red carpet at the Grand Arena, the “Fly Girl” hitmaker said he is backing Medikal to sweep more awards at the 2026 TGMAs.

“I am here to support my fellow artistes. Big shoutout to Medikal, I hope he wins more,” he said.

When asked whether Medikal could emerge as Artiste of the Year, Beeztrap KOTM said the “Shoulder” hitmaker deserves the award, but acknowledged that the other nominees are equally deserving, wishing all contenders the best of luck ahead of the big announcement.

The nominees for the 2026 TGMA Artiste of the Year category are Wendy Shay, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Diana Hamilton and Medikal.

Medikal enjoyed a strong year under review, with projects like “Disturbation 2” keeping him consistently in the public eye.

His hit song “Shoulder,” featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, is also a major TikTok moment that has kept the rapper at the centre of conversations across social media.

Industry voices have repeatedly pointed to the importance of fanbase strength in publicly weighted categories, and Medikal’s loyal BYK fanbase remains one of the strongest in Ghanaian music.

Supporters of the rapper have even organised voting parties in a bid to help him secure the top prize.
