Ghanaian global sensation Black Sherif has carved his name deeper into the history books of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards after amassing a total of 13 awards before the age of 25.

The rapper and singer achieved the latest milestone at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, where he enjoyed one of the biggest nights of his career by taking home five awards, including the coveted Artiste of the Year title.

At the 2026 edition, Black Sherif won Artiste of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Album of the Year for Iron Boy, Best Hip Hop Song for Where Dem Boyz, and Best Afropop Song of the Year for Sacrifice.

His latest victories add to an already impressive awards cabinet built over the past few years at Ghana’s biggest music awards scheme.

2026 TGMA: Black Sherif crowned Artiste of the Year

Black Sherif first made a major breakthrough at the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, where he won Best New Artiste of the Year and Best Hip Hop Song of the Year for Second Sermon.

He followed it up with a dominant performance at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, winning Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year for Kweku The Traveller, Best Music Video of the Year for Konongo Zongo, Best Collaboration of the Year for Country Side featuring Sarkodie, and Best Hip Hop Song of the Year for Kweku The Traveller.

In 2025, the musician also secured the Collaboration of the Year award for Lomo Lomo with Kidi.

With 13 awards now under his belt, Black Sherif has officially become the youngest artiste in the history of the TGMA/VGMA scheme to achieve the feat before turning 25.

The achievement has further strengthened his position as one of the leading voices of the new generation of Ghanaian music, with fans and industry players praising his consistency, storytelling ability, and rapid rise on both local and international stages.
