Amaba says Daddy Lumba (pictured) inspired his return to music through a spiritual encounter
Ghanaian artiste Amaba has shared a detailed a spiritual encounter he claims to have had with the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba in a dream.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the singer disclosed that he had quit music at a point in his life, but the dream encounter with Daddy Lumba inspired him to return to his music career.
According to Amaba, the late highlife legend questioned him in the dream about why he had stopped making music, and he explained that he lacked support.
Amaba disclosed that during the early stages of his career, Daddy Lumba was one of the few people who supported and looked out for him.
He added that the legendary musician even wanted him to come and work with him, but the people managing him at the time did not make it happen.
“I had a dream in which Daddy Lumba appeared to me and asked me why I quit music. He told me that he didn’t like what I was into. There, I knew it was my movie soundtracks he was referring to,” he said.
The musician further stated that although he did not get many opportunities to spend time with Daddy Lumba while he was alive, he could still recall one or two memorable moments they shared together.
Amaba also recounted another encounter in the dream, where the late musician offered him advice concerning his music career.
“In one of my encounters with Lumba, he guided me on what to do and words to use as far as my music career is concerned. He warned me never to title or use the word ‘wanted’ in any song I produce,” Amaba said. Amaba said.
According to him, Daddy Lumba did not fully explain the meaning behind the message, but after reflecting on it, he realised he needed to be mindful of the kind of message he puts into his songs.
He explained that after leaving the music industry, he spent some time in the ministry of the word of God, and therefore wanted to continue with that as well while being mindful of the kind of language he uses in his music.
