Shatta Wale composed a song in solidarity with Webkid
Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has commented on recent updates concerning the detention of blogger Webkid, claiming that forces beyond his control are attempting to use the case to entrap him.
In a Facebook post responding to Webkid's second bail denial, Shatta Wale pointed out that the case is a defamation case and should fall under civil offences, not a criminal offence.
"The trap they want to set, I won't fall for that. Da You deh treat defamation matter like a criminal matter,” he wrote.
Webkid denied bail again, faces two new charges
The dancehall musician further noted that the entire situation has descended into 'madness', stating, "This country, we all for deh Pantang."
Wbkid, who was picked up after a defamation and publication of false news complaint filed by Stonebwoy, has since been denied bail twice and had his original charge sheet withdrawn and replaced with a fresh one carrying two additional counts.
He now faces six charges in total, having spent close to a month in custody without the opportunity to mount a defence.
