Following the sudden demise of Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo after a courageous two-year battle with cancer, several figures from the entertainment industry gathered over the weekend to honour her memory at her one-week observance.

The event was held in remembrance of the late actress, who would have celebrated her 43rd birthday on May 28, 2026.

In a video shared online and sighted by GhanaWeb on June 1, 2026, actress Vivian Jill Lawrence recounted her final conversation with Beverly before her passing.

“She told me she wasn’t feeling well and was travelling abroad for treatment. After she left, Roselyn called to tell me that Beverly had said I wasn’t answering her calls. I told her I hadn’t seen any missed calls from her. Because of that, I went through my call log and returned almost all the foreign numbers I had missed,” she said.

Vivian Jill further revealed that during their last conversation, she had assured Beverly of a role in an upcoming project she was working on.

“She told me that when she returned, I should cast her. I told her I had a lot of scripts for her. But when she came back, she was already very ill. Even three weeks ago, we spoke on a video call, and I asked her what she wanted me to bring her when I returned to Accra.

“She told me she wanted cake. Beverly, I am here to buy you all the cakes in the world. Ama, thank you so much, and wherever you are, may your beautiful soul rest in peace,” she said emotionally.

Actress Roselyn Ngissah also struggled to hold back her tears as she shared her final memories of her late friend.

“My friend, I am not ready to say goodbye. But if there is any comfort, it is knowing that although she left us too soon, she left us with so much music, love, and valuable lessons,” Roselyn said.

Born on May 28, 1983, in Ghana’s Volta Region, Beverly Afaglo passed away on May 24, 2026, at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema after battling cancer for more than two years.

Family, friends, and colleagues have described her as a fighter who remained resilient until her final days.

Her husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster of the hiplife group Praye, announced the heartbreaking news shortly after her passing.
