Celebrities on stage in tribute of the three personalities
The 15th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards delivered a heartfelt tribute to three beloved figures who reportedly passed away recently: actress Beverly Afaglo, Nigerian actor Alexx Ekubo, and veteran musician Daddy Lumba.
Held under the theme "Rewarding African Excellence", the star-studded ceremony brought together some of the biggest names in Ghanaian and Nigerian cinema for a night of glamour, celebration and raw emotion at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
The tribute segment stood out as Ghanaian and Nigerian performers joined forces on stage alongside gospel musician Noble Nketsiah for a coordinated performance in honour of the three celebrated personalities, drawing tearful reactions from the audience.
Organisers described the moment as a deliberate celebration of lives and careers that have left a lasting imprint on African entertainment.
Beyond the tributes, the night was also a showcase of star power. Popular Ghanaian actors James Gardiner, Clemento Suarez, Dr Likee and Juliet Ibrahim lit up the red carpet alongside Nigerian stars, including Deyemi Okanlawon.
