FROM THE BIBLICAL (AND IN FACT COMMON SENSE POINT OF VIEW) THESE ARRANGEMENTS OF CONVENIENCE HARDLY QUALIFY TO BE CALLED MARRIAGE.
The prolonged physical and emotional separation of a married couple is highly undesirable because it opens one or both spouses to all sorts of pressures and temptations- THEY ARE IN EFFECT DENYING EACH OTHER THEIR MARITAL PRIVELEDGES, INCLUDING EMOTIONAL AND SEXUAL INTIMACY. Mone, professional ambition can never be an excuse for such behaviour so let us all wise up.
But long before any of us gets hitched to a wife or husband what is our understanding of marriage and its responsibilities?
MARRIAGE IS BEST REGARDED AS AN INVESTMENT IN THE SENSE THAT IT ONLY THRIVES AND BRINGS GREAT JOY AND CONTENTMENT TO THOSE WHO DELIBERATELY IPUT IN THE TIME AND EFFORT IN MAINTAINING IT. A MARRIAGE WORKS BEST WHEN BOTH PARTNERS HOLD VERY SIMILAR STRONG VALUES. THE VALUES OR BELIEFS WE HOLD ARE WHAT SHAPE OUR CHARACTER AND OUR CHARACTER ULTIMATELY INFLUENCES THE IMPORTANT CHOICES WE MAKE IN LIFE.
For any couple going into marriage, they need to review the following: do they both believe in the need for faithfulness in marriage and regard it as a relationship that excludes all others? Do they share a common strong faith and adhere to its teachings?

Character traits such as :
integrity (honesty) ,
consideration for others,
kindness,
gentleness,
truthfulness,
being hardworking or industrious,
having healthy ambition,
being disciplined with money (willing to economize and live frugally so that you can save and invest, thereby improve your financial security),
a willingness to forgive while remembering that we are sinners ourselves,
and being even tempered. All these great character traits are GODLY TRAITS as those who are familiar with the scriptures would have noticed.
In contrast character traits that are likely to doom a marriage include: selfishness or self-centredness, lack of commitment, laziness and lack of ambition or an unwillingness to plan for the future, untruthfulness, being bad-tempered, BEING CARELESS WITH MONEY (money related issues remain the number one cause of marriage breakup worldwide) or not budgeting carefully. Those living beyond their means will inevitably doom their marriage. Untidiness is a slow marriage killer.
ABOVE ALL HAVING A STRONG SHARED REVERENCE FOR THE GOD OF HEAVEN AND A WILLINGNESS TO LIVE BY HIS COMMANDS IS THE STRONGEST MARRIAGE GLUE AND THE STRONGEST MARRIAGE FOUNDATION. Those who live by the precepts of the Holy scriptures while they run the BUMPY MARATHON RACE CALLED MARRIAGE WILL REAP A BUMPER HARVEST OF PEACE AND CONTMENT
Please remember that putting a ring on a man or a woman’s finger will not turn them into a great husband or wife- They must already be good marriage material long before you tie the knot- and this applies to you as well if you are single.

God bless the good women out there who have morals, respect themselves, and don't treat marriage as a get-rich-quick scheme.

Men should beware and stop being manipulated by nonsense statements like 'tradition' and 'real men', and face the realities.

A woman who does this is a harlot and should take full responsibility and face the consequences of her behaviour.

Just as men who also practice polygamy while in an ordinance marriage are also frauds who God will punish. If you want polygamy, go for someone who will entertain your polygamy, not someone who thinks their going into ordinance, only to realize later that you were a polygamist.
