'You wanted divorce, yet you didn't show up' – Peggy Ovire calls out Frederick Leonard

Nigerian actress Peggy Ovire has publicly accused her estranged husband, Frederick Leonard, of deliberately delaying their divorce proceedings.

In a series of posts shared on her Instagram Story on June 9, 2026, Peggy alleged that although Frederick expressed his desire for a divorce, he failed to appear in court after being served with the necessary documents.

According to her, he should not avoid the customary court for the second time when the matter comes up on June 23, as she intends to present evidence to support her claims.

“You said you wanted a divorce, yet you didn't show up when you were served. Please don't avoid customary court for the second time on June 23 because I'm coming with receipts, and let's make this divorce done and dusted,” she wrote.

She further stated that concluding the divorce would finally allow Frederick and his long-standing side chick to freely pursue their relationship.

“So both of you can finally be together,” she stated.

Peggy also took a swipe at the actor, describing him as a “so-called traditional Igbo man,” while alleging that he is involved with another married Igbo woman who has four children.

She claimed that although Frederick had reportedly told a blogger that she was lying, his decision to send a lawyer instead of appearing in court after reviewing her petition indicated that he was aware of the details contained in her filing.

“You ran to a blogger that I was lying, but when you were served and saw details of my petition, you knew I had seen one out of many, yet refused to show up in court but sent your lawyer,” she added.
