Ghanaian actor, comedian and content creator Jeffrey Nortey has paid an emotional tribute to late actress Beverly Afaglo, describing her passing as painful and difficult to come to terms with.

Speaking to Patience Adu on GhanaWeb’s Talkertainment, Jeffrey expressed his sadness over the actress’ death and extended his condolences to her family.

“I would like to say rest in peace to Beverly. We lost her sister. She was a very good actress and I was privileged to work with her,” he said

Asked how he felt when he first heard the news, Jeffrey admitted that he is still struggling with the loss.

“It wasn’t pleasant at all. I felt… I’m still actually not feeling too good about it. Even if I didn’t know her, I don’t know how anybody would feel good hearing news like that,” he added

The actor noted that although people often say kind words about individuals after they pass away, his admiration for Beverly was genuine because they shared a good relationship while she was alive.

“We had a good relationship, yes,” he said.

Jeffrey Nortey also shared a light-hearted personal memory of the late actress, revealing that she introduced him to one of his now favourite delicacies, “Shawarma.”

According to him, he was initially not interested in trying the food because he preferred traditional meals.

“I wasn’t a Shawarma guy. I like my kenkey and fish and all that,” he recounted. “But she forced me to try it and I loved it.”

He added that ever since then, he has associated the meal with Beverly.

“Anytime I buy it, I’m like, ‘Yo, B, because of you.’ I had one yesterday,” he said with a smile.

Concluding his tribute,Jeffrey offered prayers for the bereaved family and reflected on the fragility of life.

“So rest in peace, Beverly Afaglo, and my condolences to the family,” he said. “And to us who are alive, we pray that God will protect us and keep us.”
