Emotional scene as TikToker breaks down after arrest in Empress Gifty case

A viral video of TikTok personality Bernice Appiah, popularly known as Pretty Lady, captured in tears and apologising for defamatory statements made about gospel musician Empress Gifty, has sparked reactions online.

In the video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on June 11, 2026, Pretty Lady was captured kneeling and shedding uncontrollable tears.

According to reports, she was picked up by the Ghana Police Service after Hopeson Adorye, the husband of Empress Gifty, lodged a formal complaint.

The reports further alleged that Pretty Lady made the defamatory remarks about Empress Gifty in 2022.

However, in the recent video, Pretty Lady tearfully pleaded with both Empress Gifty and her husband for forgiveness.

“I am Bernice Appiah. I made comments about Empress Gifty in 2022. I am on my knees begging you to forgive me for the false information I spread about you in 2022.

"I am also pleading with your husband, but he said if you forgive me, he would also forgive me. To everyone I made such false statements about in 2022, I am equally asking for your forgiveness,” she said.
