Sarkodie reveals what Shatta Wale told Medikal about their friendship

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has recounted a conversation he once had with Medikal regarding his relationship with Shatta Wale.

Speaking in an interview shared on X on June 14, 2026, Sarkodie revealed that Medikal once told him about a statement Shatta Wale had made concerning their friendship.

According to Sarkodie, Shatta Wale expressed how much he values their relationship and mentioned that Sarkodie is among the few people within the entertainment industry he genuinely wants in his circle.

Sarkodie further explained that over the years, both of them have developed an understanding of how to maintain their friendship without compromising each other’s personalities or creating unnecessary conflict.

“We got to a point where it became like, my brother, you know how I feel about you, and I know how you feel about me. So we cannot allow misunderstandings to become issues.

"Shatta understands these things and knows the people he genuinely wants to work with. Even when people thought there was friction between us, or maybe something was going on, he used to tell Medikal, ‘Sark is the only person I need inside this squad.’ Medikal told me that himself while I was shooting a video with him,” he said.

The rapper also reflected on lessons he has learned over the years about understanding people and managing relationships.

According to Sarkodie, people naturally think and behave differently, and that should not always be interpreted as wrongdoing.

“People are naturally different. Just because someone doesn’t do things your way doesn’t mean the person is wrong.

"That has been one of our biggest problems over the years, but when you speak to people, you realise you all want the same thing. The only difference is the route each person takes to get there,” he added.
