Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has finally broken his silence on the past misunderstanding with his former house help, Mary.
He has detailed the support he claims to have given Mary over the years and expressed disappointment over their fallout.
Speaking in an interview with Headless YouTuber, the “Angela” hitmaker revealed that he had previously advised Mary to eventually move out and start her own life because she was growing into adulthood.
“I called her some time ago, and I told her, we are the same age, and you’re a woman, you’re growing up. It will get to a time you need to leave here because you’re growing up, and when you leave, this is what I can do for you,” Kuami Eugene said.
According to the musician, he had plans to support Mary with some of his properties when she eventually left his home, but the current conflict between them has changed his mind.

“Maybe some of the properties I have that she thought one day I could give her when she was leaving, but I won’t do that now because we are on bad terms,” he stated.
Kuami Eugene further claimed that he played a major role in helping Mary establish her shito business, saying he gave her the idea and financially supported her for years.
“The shito she was selling, I gave her the idea. For three years, I paid her every month. Anytime she was going to the village, I gave her extra money because they knew she was coming from Kuami Eugene’s house and she had to give something to her family,” he explained.
The award-winning singer also made it clear that he does not see the conflict as a competition, insisting that he is ahead of his former domestic worker in terms of success and resources.
“There’s no way she can fight me and win in any way. Grace, glory, money, property, everything. I’m ahead of her. So if I decide to fight her to the ground because of the pain she’s causing me now, then after that, what again? Because just a single call would have shut her down for good,” he said.
Despite his frustrations and the tension between them, Kuami Eugene maintained that he still has love for Mary and would be willing to help her if she finds herself in a difficult situation.
“At the end of the day, if she is in trouble and I have the help, I will still give her that help,” he added.
The musician’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users praising him for his support of Mary while others debated whether such private issues should be discussed publicly.

Earlier in 2023, Mary disclosed that she was sent by Kwami Eugene to deliver a package at Cantonments but ended up moving between Madina and Nkrumah Circle after experiencing dizziness and what she described as a temporary mental distortion.
According to Mary, Kuami Eugene was displeased with the situation and allegedly gave her two choices: accept a reduction in her salary from GH₵600 to GH₵400 or leave his house and return to her mother. She said she chose the salary reduction, but eventually left Eugene's house.
After leaving Kuami Eugene’s residence, Mary raised several allegations against the artiste, claiming in an interview with GhPage TV that she had been starved severally while working for him.
Mary alleged that, at one point, she collapsed multiple times, and was even warned by Eugene's girlfriend to keep her distance from him.
Her mother also joined the controversy, alleging that Mary returned home with an unidentified illness that left her in a coma for some time.
