Thirty minutes before Dr Likee’s comedy show in the UK, he disclosed that a last-minute challenge almost disrupted the successful event held at the Indigo at The O2.

In an interview with ZionFelix aired on June 19, 2026, he explained that just minutes before the show began, they were informed that the sound engineer, who is white, demanded an additional £2,000 for working on the sound.

He said the payment was not part of the earlier arrangement and without it, the show would not go on.

According to Dr Likee, he proposed that a Black local technician be brought in to handle the sound since they were unable to raise the extra amount on such short notice.

However, the request was declined on the grounds that the event centre’s policy did not allow such a substitution.

Fortunately, he noted that actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown stepped in at a critical moment and helped resolve the situation.

“The hardest part for me was about 30 minutes before the show when they told us the sound engineer, who was white, refused to work unless we paid £2,000. We asked if a Black technician could step in instead but they said their policy didn’t allow it.

“It really turned into a serious problem because there was no way we could raise £2,000 on the same day. I’m truly grateful to Nana Ama McBrown for stepping in and helping resolve the situation,” he said.

Dr Likee also took the opportunity to thank all the entertainers and personalities who honored his invitation and performed on the night.

He specifically acknowledged major acts such as Akrobeto, Emelia Brobbey, Stonebwoy, and several others whose presence, he said, contributed significantly to the success of the event.

Ghana’s thriving creative arts industry made a strong international statement as Dr Likee Live marked its highly anticipated debut at Indigo at The O2 on May 22, 2026.

The event delivered an evening filled with comedy, music, and stage drama, showcasing Ghanaian entertainment on a global stage.
